The Richness of Change
Broadcast on RTÉ as 'one-minute wonders' during the week of 7-14 April 2008, The Richness of Change was initially conceived as a 'vox pop' but grew into a series of short documentary vignettes, highlighting the diversity of origin and of profession, amongst Ireland's immigrant population.
The Richness of Change, commissioned for a conference on the same theme by the Immigrant Council of Ireland and directed by Colin Murphy, works with the theme of 'diversity', with a focus on individuals contributing across a variety of sectors and to broad swathes of economic life and culture. Cutting across class, gender, race and ethnicity, the films offer brief snapshots of everyday life, illustrating the contributions that economic migrants are making.
